How long have you been in business?
Central Union Misison is the oldest social service agency in Washington, DC and we have been priveleged to serve those in need since 1884.
What is your primary product or service?
The Mission's primary focus is to serve as an emergency shelter for homeless men. Through our additional programs and services, we focus heavily on meeting needs, renewing hope, restoring family relationships and returning once-broken men to productive lives.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
We are motivated by our faith to care for others. Additionally, we recognize that among today's homeless are tomorrow's ministers, lay leaders, and counselors who will save lives and lead congregations, businesses, organizations and much more.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We have been described by members of the City Council as "Safe, Ckean, Polite." That's what we hope you will find at Central Union Mission, not just services, shelter and food, but we strive to be a place where all who eneter will be treated with diginity and love and find that indeed we are "safe, ckean and polite."
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We are currently in seven locations. And have just relocated the shelter to our main building is at 65 Mass Ave NW Washington, DC.
What type of payments do you accept?
All forms of payment are accepted.

Washington metro area.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
We have a Board of Directors that is responsible for Mission oversight and an Executive Director, David O. Treadwell, who is responsible for daily operations.

We are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
